The Career
Technical Education Center (CTEC) offers a variety of classes designed to teach the students
the skills needed for gainful employment. We offer many hardware and
software computer classes that are designed to teach the student new skills for
a new career, or bring current computer skills up to business and industry
standards. Classes specific to the medical industry are also offered.
Not all classes are offered each nine-week session.

New book prices will be posted in the Fall 2007.
Bus Driver Training
Bus driver training is offered twice a year. Training is for new certification and renewal of current certification, classroom instruction only. Additional behind the wheel training is required for certification.
Career Paths/Vocational Diploma/Professional
Certificate (Day program only)
Eight career paths are available for students who want to earn a Vocational Diploma or Professional Certificate. To qualify for the Vocational Diploma, students must have a high school diploma or GED. Those without will be awarded the Proficiency Certificate.

Students may "test out" of designated classes if they have the required skill
level.
Certification Programs
Students can prepare for certification by Microsoft for Microsoft Office
Specialist. The Career Technical Education Center is an Authorized Testing Center for
Microsoft Office XP,
Microsoft Office 2003 applications, and Microsoft Office 2007: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Students can also prepare for A+ Certification by completing the A+ Computer Upgrade and Repair 18-week course,
the Internship course, and the A+ Test Preparation class. Testing for A+ is off site.
Students can now prepare for Medical Coding
Certification. Students must complete the Medical Terminology and Anatomy 18-week course, and the Medical Billing and Coding 18-week course, which includes the Front Office and Test Preparation modules.
These 18-week courses will be offered during the day program only. Testing for Medical Coding Certification is off site.

Certification is available for Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook, Office XP,

$85.00 each with one retake voucher, and are administered by appointment only.

MSDN Academic Alliance
Notary Public Training
Classes are offered by the California School of Notary Public once each session. Students can become a Notary or renew their license. Courses are offered for Notary Public and for Notary Loan Signing Agent. Testing dates
and locations are provided by the instructor.
Online/Onsite Computer Training
Over 200 courses are offered onsite, online using high-speed Internet access in air-conditioned classrooms on newer, fast computers. Online training is individualized, interactive instruction, and an instructor is available for assistance. Courses are offered in the
Multi-Program, Online/Onsite Training and Keyboarding class.
